St George Beach
Next to Chora lies the beautiful beach of Agios Georgios (Ai Giorgis
as the locals call it). Several km of white, rich sand beach and crystal
clear water, well organised with sun beds, umbrellas for rent and various
water sports facilities.
As it is the closest beach to the town of Naxos (just a five-minute walk
to the south from the Town’s edge) it is one of the most popular and
crowded beaches of the island. It is considered the most cosmopolitan
beach on Naxos. Because the water is quite shallow and the sand here is
soft Agios Georgios is ideal for families with children. |
