Sun Beach Hotel, situated at the wonderful settlement of Saint Geaorge
just 20 metres from the beach. Saint Geaorge is the capital’s beach. It is
one of the most popular Naxos beaches. It is a long full organised sandy
beach offering sun beds, umbrellas and water sports facilities. It is a
famous windsurfing spot with a couple of clubs proposing rentals. The
beach is lined by several cafes and restaurants.
Distances: Naxos Town 300m, Port 1 Km, Airport 1.5Km
St George Beach
Next to Chora lies the beautiful beach of Agios Georgios (Ai Giorgis
as the locals call it). Several km of white, rich sand beach and crystal
clear water, well organised with sun beds, umbrellas for rent and various
water sports facilities. As it is the closest beach to the town of Naxos
(just a five-minute walk to the south from the Town’s edge) it is one of
the most popular and crowded beaches of the island. |
It is considered the most
cosmopolitan beach on Naxos.
Because the water is quite shallow and the sand here is soft Agios
Georgios is ideal for families with children. |

Naxos, the largest and most fertile of the Cycladic islands, lies
almost at the centre of the Aegean. Meadows running down to vast beaches,
cliffs sinking suddenly into the sea, rocky mountains side-by-side with
fertile valleys, abundant springs and streams these are just some of the
features of a natural environment marked for its variety.
The coastline of Naxos is abrupt on the south side and more sheltered to
the west, with numerous inlets and sandy beaches. |
