Villa Naxia is a unique resort for your summer holiday. It is very close
to Naxos Town and the port and at the same time at the most quiet
location. There are small markets, car and motorbike rentals and
restaurants within a short walking distance.
The beach of Saint George is found at the south of Naxos Town. The beach
is very long and suitable for every taste, which makes it the most famous
beach on the island. Apart from that it is safe for children, since the
water is very shallow for the first 10 - 20 m.
At its northern side there are lovely taverns right on the sand. They
serve snacks and coffee in the morning and tasty local dishes of meat,
fish or cooked food for lunch and dinner. At night the lights go down; it
is the time to relax listening to the soft music and the water of the
beach as it wets the sand.
Next you will find the snack bars. You will enjoy the coffee, the
cocktails and drinks and the tasty snacks and dishes. All this on the sand
and in the shadow. At night, they become romantic bars, for those who wish
to enjoy the nature with a cocktail in their hands. Music is low at that
time since there are houses and hotels at the back.
The surf club is waiting for you further down, to test your courage and
knowledge and of course have FUN. You can select among a great variety of
sports, starting with windsurfing, then attempting catamaran sailing,
jet-ski or water-ski and so many others.

The end of the beach of Saint George is its most quiet part. There you
will find peace and calm, just you and the thick sand. no houses, no
hotels, only tranquility.
St George Beach
Next to Chora lies the beautiful beach of Agios Georgios (Ai Giorgis as
the locals call it). Several km of white, rich sand beach and crystal
clear water, well organised with sun beds, umbrellas for rent and various
water sports facilities. As it is the closest beach to the town of Naxos
(just a five-minute walk to the south from the Town’s edge) it is one of
the most popular and crowded beaches of the island. It is considered the
most cosmopolitan beach on Naxos.
Because the water is quite shallow and the sand here is soft Agios
Georgios is ideal for families with children. |

Naxos, the largest and most fertile of the Cycladic islands, lies almost
at the centre of the Aegean.
Meadows running down to vast beaches, cliffs sinking suddenly into the
sea, rocky mountains side-by-side with fertile valleys, abundant springs
and streams these are just some of the features of a natural environment
marked for its variety.
The coastline of Naxos is abrupt on the south side and more sheltered to
the west, with numerous inlets and sandy beaches. |
