Description
Sifnos Lighthouse, is a newly built establishment in Sifnos Island which
features original architectural lines.
The owners, both architects, constructed a hotel that reflects their
experience and personal taste. The Hotel Lighthouse interiors and exterior
grounds have been designed with superb taste in a romantic style,
combining harmoniously the local Cycladic architecture and modern
amenities. Our Sifnos Apartments are made of traditional wooden ceilings
painted with ecological paings and flagstone floors with whitewashed
seams.
All appartments have a bedroom with a traditional built in or old
fashioned iron-made double bed, a living room with solid teak furniture
and built in couches, a kitchenette and a private bathroom.Most of the
apartments also have a loft as a second bedroom, ideal for family with
children, on the whole creating a stylish Cycladic ambiance. All
apartments are equipped with air-conditioning, TV, telephone and radio CD
player. All apartments are equipped with the pleasant reception area there
is a sitting lounge and a small bar for the executive us of our guests. |
There is one room is at the
very top of the building, the penthouse of this complex, which is a small
room with a private bathroom and a very large veranda with panoramic views
of the sea and the surrounding hills. The studio is on the ground floor,
about 28 sq.m. each with a bedroom, a living room corner, a
kitchenette, a bathroom and a large veranda with limited view. The
standard apartments are on the elevated ground floor, about 40 sq.m. each
with a bedroom with a built-in double bed, and living room with built -in
one sofa bed, a kitchenette, a bathroom and a large veranda with panoramic
views of the hills and some sea view. The superior apartments are on the
top floor, about 36 sq. each most of them with a loft bedroom with a
double bed, another double bed on the ground level, a living room corner
with a sofa, a kitchenette, a bathroom and large verandas with panoramic
view of the sea and the surrounding valley.

Built in an impressive position on the top of a hill, overlooking the
valley of Faros and the sea, the Lighthouse hotel-apartments is located 1
km from the village of Faros with its shops, taverns and its 3 sandy
beaches (Fasolous, Glyfou and the settlement of Faros). The nearest bus
stop is 200 meters away and the nearest restaurants and mini market are 1
km away.
Faros
Faros is located in the SE Sifnos and it is considered to be the safest
port of the island, and had been up to 1883 the official port. It is a
peaceful fishing village with picturesque continuous sandy beaches:
Fasolou, Faros and Glyfos. Near the entrance of the port lies the
petrogoleta of Chrisopigi, a rocky island that is severed from the land
and on which is located the monastery of Panagia of Chrisopigi, the
protector Saint of Sifnos. On the west side of the bay, the remnants of
the installations for the shipping of ore, for its transportation and
processing at Lavrio, are preserved. The local name is obviously due to
the installation of a lighthouse, a large coastal lantern in the entrance
of the port, to be used in navigation. This lighthouse is at present
located on the right side of the port and on the side of the monastery of
Stavros, from which the view is unique. |
Sifnos Island, Greece
Sifnos, lies in the middle of the Cyclades islands between Serifos,
Kimolos and Antiparos . The island is reached on the ferries which run on
the Piraeus- Kythnos- Serifos- Sifnos- Milos- Kimolos line, and there are
