also pose interest:
The Prehistoric Collection (material mainly from the fortified
settlement of Kastri and the Cemetery of Halandriani, Early Copper
Age, 3rd millennium b.C.), the Collection of the Historical Times
(material from the ancient city of Syros and other ancient cities
of Cyclades). In the museum there are also sculptures of the

Center of Technical Culture of Ermoupolis – Industrial Museum of
Ermoupolis |
|
Brief description of the museum
The Industrial Museum of Ermoupolis is the result of a series of
actions by the Municipality of Ermoupolis as well as by the
National Foundation of Research. These efforts not only made the
museum a reality but also contributed in the restoration of many
important buildings of the historical industrial zone, in the
preservation of very important industrial material and in the
promotion and utilization of the city’s industrial legacy.
The Collection of the Industrial Museum
The Museum’s collection, which is not on display in its entirety,
includes 400 machines, tools and other miscellaneous objects. The
collection’s size makes it one of the biggest in the country
today. The machines have been constructed in various Greek
industrial cities like Syros, Piraeus, Volos, Halkida, as well as
in Germany, Great Britain, France, etc. The period covered is the
second half of the 19th century up until the 1970s.
Location / Access
The Industrial Museum of Ermoupolis is housed in the three
restored industrial buildings of the Municipality of Ermoupolis,
the Katsimantis Dyeworks, the Anairousis Pellet Factory and the
